Through Yeshayahu, Adonai speaks to Yaakov and Israel. He reminds them that he created them, redeemed them, and called them by name. He tells them not to fear, because they belong to him.
He promises to be with them as they pass through waters and rivers, and as they walk through fire. He calls himself Israel’s God and Savior. He says Israel is precious in his eyes and loved by him, and describes peoples given in exchange for them.
Adonai promises to bring his sons and daughters from east and west, north and south. He calls for them to be brought back even from the ends of the earth: everyone called by his name and created for his glory.
