A new heart for a new way
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you… I will put My Spirit within you.”

How often have we decided that this time we would respond differently, only to find ourselves in the same place? Within the promise of Israel’s return, Ezekiel brings news that reaches deeper than willpower: the LORD promises a new heart and a new spirit. He Himself intends to work within His people.
This promise invites us to trust Him in our small choices and take part. We can pause before reacting, ask for His help, and choose differently, even when the road is still long. Today let us bring Him a place that has hardened within us: our attitude toward someone, indifference, or a fear that directs us. Alongside our resolve to do better, we can ask the LORD to renew our ability to love and do good.
A simple prayer
God of Israel, give me a tender heart and a steadfast spirit. Work in me through Your Spirit and help me walk with You, one choice at a time.
